First off, welcome to the forum! We're beyond pleased to have you here with us and to be your first RP forum! Thanks so much for joining us today!
Second off, there are a few things you must know.
Second off, there are a few things you must know.
- This is a story-style RP. As in, all posts must be in story style, in 3rd person, and fairly long. For example: "Jade glanced at him from under her eyelashes, feeling nervous. The butterflies in her stomach (much as she disliked the term) did the jitterbug. Finally, she spoke. "I love you too, you know. It's just... I guess it's harder for me to say."" rather than "thanks you too -jade". Don't worry - even if you're not a writer, we don't expect perfection!
- Staying in character in all threads except those marked OOC is crucial! Get to know your character. Play games with them. It'll be fun.
- Oh yeah, and threads are basically posts. Categories are the bars on top - "nitty gritty", "inside hollywood arts", "fun stuff", etc. Boards are the boxes within threads - "read this first!", "sikowitz's classroom", etc. Threads are the actual posts, such as the one you're reading right now.
- For an RP, what you will do is create a thread in the location you desire - for example, if you wish to RP in Sikowitz's classroom, create a thread there. For the title, pick a creative name - for example, "for the first time in forever" and then in parentheses, put the name of the person you wish to rp with - like "for the first time in forever (beck)". If you have no one to RP with but wish for someone to simply join in, put "open".
- For the first post in an RP, have your character arrive or be waiting for the other character. Don't try and control the other character - just describe your own character's thoughts, feelings, actions, etc.
- Posting is welcome! Post as many times as you'd like. Start threads in different locations. Ask people if you can RP with their characters. Get to know everyone! Speak in general chat. Make yourself involved. Trust me, it's worth it.
- Don't be scared to speak to staff or admin. We're normal people as well.
- Have fun!
